Basic Rappelling Exposure Session for the Scouts of Southern Quest 2026 Camp

The National College of Policing and Law Enforcement conducted a Basic Rappelling Exposure Session for 145 Scouts and 6 Scout Leaders of Southern Quest 2026 Camp, introducing participants to the fundamentals of rappelling in a safe and controlled environment.

Delivered by NCPLE instructors, the session aimed to build confidence, promote teamwork, and provide an introduction to safe adventure activities through practical learning and hands-on experience.

Participants were introduced to essential rappelling equipment, including the seat harness, carabiners, figure 8 descender, ropes, helmet, and gloves. The session also covered basic anchoring concepts, commonly used knots, safety procedures, equipment checks, communication commands, and demonstrations of selected rappelling techniques used by the Maldives Police Service.

By experiencing the fundamentals of rappelling under professional supervision, participants developed greater confidence, strengthened teamwork, and gained an appreciation for the importance of safety, preparation, and trust in these activities.
